Ethic and Etiquette

What is Ethic and Etiquette?
Ethic and Etiquette show how people react to other people and how we treat each other with respect. when someone is mean to you they show bad Ethics and Etiquette. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
Throughout the story "DOS" or Death of a Salesman, we learned some very on ethical things about Willy Loman and his sons. if you do not want a spoiler skip about 2 lines, but if you do here it is. They eventually find out that Willy"the father" is trying to kill him self in his basement with a tube connected to a furnace, and when he is confronted about it the night after the boys dump him at dinner, he gets in his Chevy and crashes his very own car. Killing himself because he wanted to show the boys how popular he was. At Willy's funeral the amount of people he said would be there was way off and out of proportion. he said he was a liked man all over Boston and the cities around him, but when they found out they really did not like the outcome. His sons Happy and Bif, decided to dump their father to go hang with 2 girls. Freshman remember, even if you do not like the person it is better to stay and show a little care, than to leave and show how much you hate them. Willy's wife Linda always nagged at the boys telling that Willy was not really that bad of a person, but he was a nice, kind loving man, that wanted to do a lot for his family. Willy wanted to plant a garden because he thought that he could grow something that became big he would feel accomplished. DOS was a very sad book but i give it a 9-10 for suspense and the fun part of liking how the story really develops.

When you grow a plant it does not grow bigger above ground. It is buried under the ground and expands so it becomes ripe to eat. Willy wanted to grow a garden so he accomplished what he could not do. If a farmer wanted to plant crops they use tillers and other various items. With Willy's garden it was just his hands and knees and a watering bucket.

How to Tune a Guitar

You may not know how, but each time you need to know how to do something you can look back to see how to do what another person already knew. In the video below I show how to tune your own guitar. A lot of people i know will ask me how so i thought i would just make a video about to tune your very own guitar, because it may seem hard a first but you must remember. If you fail once try again, because the next time you may succeed.

Research Papers--April 4, 2014

Papers are not that “hard” to write
Are you ever in the mood of, why do i need to do this? OR Why is this even important? Well a few short tips to research papers can help you write one in a week or maybe less. Depending on whom you are with visuals or writing it out it can be very easy. I did not know some of these steps freshmen year and i wish i had because they help me now. These eight or nine very simple steps can help the paper pretty much write itself.

  1. Brainstorm a Topic for your paper. Make sure you have an interesting topic, but the topic is still relevant to what the teacher needs you to learn.
  2. Create a "web graph" for visual people or a "flow chart" for non-visual people. Creating this helps you      write your paper because you are thinking of the ideas while you are writing them down in your notes.
  3. Where do you start your web at? In the Middle of the web is the topic with the topic sentence. You may have your attention sentence here too.
  4. Researching the web. You have got to research everything that you need here. Getting the information now can help you in the long run. get the MLA or APA citations here
  5. Write your draft of your paper. This will help you get the knots and kinks out of the paper and run through the motion of going with your sources. Keeping it simple and easy.
  6. Proofread the paper. 85% of people will be like "Oh, this paper is fine how it is" well...picture this you get a 45% on a paper just because you did not proof read. Then your friend, parent, or teacher proof reads it. You went from a 45% to an 80%. I will take that 80% over 45% any day of the week if I were you.
  7. You are Finalized your paper got proof-read and the paper has been corrected. You may turn in your hard copy that has taken try after try, and have the sense of accomplishment.

  8.  A lot of the cool things that i have learned how to write a paper does not just involve writing it. You need to study the information so you know what you are writing about in the paper and make sure you actually have your facts straightened out. For instance, if you were going to
  9. talk about how President Obama won an election by a landslide, you would need to know a very in-depth information about how many people vote and who voted for what. but you also need to know the amount on money spent into driving the campaign and how it was used to an advantage or a disadvantage. Few Quick tips with writing a paper is to diffidently write it in chunks, and to not write it all at once. you do not cram a research paper in a 5 hour period. I have seen people try this and ti has failed horribly for them. Write the paper in what known as "Hour-by-Hour" increments. basically write for an hour and a half and then take a 15-20 minute break, and then write another hour and a half. Every one's brain is built differently, and in that case you need to be able to make a paper perfect.

DWC--Thursday January 23, 2014

Devil in the White City

Using rhetoric in your writing, or style is like persuading someone to do something Devil in the White City (DWC) a book by Erik Larson uses a lot of different forms of rhetoric. There are three kinds of rhetoric: Logos, Pathos, and Ethos. Logos uses logical appeal to get to the person they are talking two to do it in a different way than they asked before. In DWC, Burnham was told that the ship he was sailing on was the largest ship ever built; when in the paper a couple days later, his friend Francis was actually on a bigger ship but it was sailing in the opposite direction. Pathos directs the question to going somewhere else; in DWC page five Richard uses pathos to say how the greatest event in history is the Civil War and how the civil war was better than the rest of them. Ethos uses emotions to get the reader to want to go for someone to have an emotional state while answering the question. “Mrs. Willard uses ethos referencing a man patting a curly haired boy; to patting mortar that was placed for a ceremony to take place” (pg. 58). The science of persuasion showed you how to persuade someone into letting you get what you want without making it really suspicious as to why you would want it.
